Summary

Teaches DOGPerfect’s dog training curriculum to both customers, their pets, as well as associates. Is the subject matter expert for dog training (Socialization).

Principle Accountabilities

May include, but not limited to:

• Ensures pet training courses are conducted in accordance to DOGPerfect’s training programs.
• Sets, reviews and adjusts schedules of classes to ensure class offerings, sales and payroll objectives are met.
• Attends meetings as required for training and development. Continually educates co-workers on all dog socialization classes.
• Ensures the safety of all pets and customers is first and foremost.
• Resolves all customer service issues related to pet training.
• Actively markets classes by working with local communities, adoption partners, store associates, and management.
• Ensures that pet training marketing and information in-store and on display is current and up-to-date. Works with store manager to ensure necessary supplies are ordered.
• Fosters a positive relationship with the store associates to build support for pet training programs.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.

Certification

Certified Pet Food Nutrition Specialist (Nutrition course through DNM University provided upon hire)

Experience

A minimum of 2 years of experience, certifications preferred but not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the dog socialization specialist is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, or feel. The dog socialization specialist frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and/or hear. The dog socialization specialist is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance. The dog socialization specialist must frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift and or move in excess of 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception.

Exposure to live animals and their handling is common.
